Post-your-memory
This project is motivated by Metaphors of Memory: A History of Ideas about the Mind by Douwe Draaisma. This is about the relationship between an individual or a group’s memory and their identities. I have been collected memos from people around me, and researched each person’s individuality and their record patterns. Post-it was the main metaphor in this project to express more realistic description. And original text was translated to encrpytic codes using serial code generator. That means people record their memories in different ways individually. Finally, memory and memorizing system is one total process, so I used overlapped patterns and a montage technique based on this concept.
