Boisbuchet Workshop - Very Cheap Necklaces
“Very Cheap” Necklaces made at Dinie Besems Boisbuchet workshop held by Vitra Design Museum.
Each participants were given 5 different themes, and had to choose one theme for making 10 necklaces.
My theme was VERY CHEAP.
I approached two different ways.
One was ‘material way’ and another one was ‘conceptual way’. In material way, I collected all the materials from rubbish bin and anywhere I can get for free. I used toilet paper, newspaper, wrapping sponge, stones.. etc.
In conceptual way, I gathered 3 different currencies’ smallest amount of coin which I had at that time, and used them as a pendant. 10 Korean won, 1 Euro cent, 1 Japanese yen which people thinks very very cheap.
And to make even necklaces free of cost, I drew necklace lines with marker pen around my neck. Then sticked coins onto my skin. So final necklaces cost only 10 won, 1 cent, 1 yen which are VERY CHEAP.
